Privacy policy

This is a short page because there is very little to say. The only thing we hold about you is what you chose to send us; the only thing measured while you read is how the pages are used, and that is counted rather than kept.

What the form collects

The enquiry form asks for your name, an email address, a phone number and the address of the property, and then three questions about the job: what service you are looking for, whether you already have a design, and roughly what you are budgeting. It also offers a tick box consenting to text messages from us, which is yours to leave alone — the form sends without it. It is the only form on this site, and it is the same form wherever you meet it.

It is not ours to host. The form is a LeadConnector form, shown on these pages inside a frame, and what you type goes from that frame to LeadConnector without passing through this website at all. There is no account, no login and no database behind these pages, and nothing you send is stored here. What LeadConnector does with a submission while it is holding it for us is covered by their own privacy policy rather than by this one; what we do with it is reply to you, and nothing else.

We always keep your information private and we never share your information with anyone outside of our organization.

Cookies, analytics and advertising

This site carries no advertising and no ad-tracking scripts, and it does not sell or share anything about you with anybody. It does measure how its own pages are used, with Google Analytics, and that is described in full in the next section. The typefaces, the photographs and the video loops are all served from this site rather than borrowed from somebody else’s, which is part of the reason the pages open as quickly as they do. Four things on the site do reach another company, and all four are named below: the analytics tag, the enquiry form, a film once you press play, and the map of Wichita.

Analytics

Every page on this site runs Google Analytics. It exists to answer questions about the site rather than about you: which pages people read, which ones they leave, whether the photographs are worth their weight on a phone, and whether anybody ever finds the drainage article. Nobody here looks at individuals, because the tool does not show them to us — what arrives is counts.

What it does set is a cookie on this website, named “_ga”, which gives your browser a random number so a second page you open is counted as the same visit rather than as a new stranger. That number is not a name, it is not tied to anything you have sent us through the form, and it expires by itself. Google also receives the ordinary things any web server receives — the page address, the rough location your connection resolves to, the kind of device and browser you are using. What Google does with that is covered by Google’s own privacy policy rather than by this one.

Advertising features are switched off. This site does not run remarketing, does not build advertising audiences and does not permit the ad-targeting interfaces some browsers now offer — that last one is refused by the site itself, in a header sent with every page, rather than merely left unused.

If you would rather not be counted at all, that is entirely reasonable and it is one setting away: Google publishes a browser add-on that opts you out of Google Analytics everywhere, and any browser’s tracking protection or content blocker will stop the tag from loading on this site. Nothing on these pages behaves differently when it is blocked — the site is written to work without it, and no part of it checks.

The form

The enquiry form that closes most pages on this site is a frame from LeadConnector, and unlike the films it does not wait to be asked: the frame is part of the page, so it loads when the page does, whether or not you scroll to it or intend to write to us. Loading it also runs one script from LeadConnector on this site — the piece that sizes the frame to the form inside it, which a frame cannot do for itself.

That means LeadConnector sees a request from your browser on those pages, and may set cookies of their own in the frame, before you have typed anything. What they do with either is covered by LeadConnector’s privacy policy rather than by this one. The form is the company’s own, and it is where enquiries have always arrived; the pages simply show it now instead of linking to it.

The films

The films in the portfolio gallery are hosted by Vimeo, and they stay there until you ask for one. Until you press play the page holds a still photograph and a button, and no request has been made to Vimeo at all. When you do press play, the player is asked to load in do-not-track mode; what Vimeo does from that point is covered by Vimeo’s own privacy policy rather than by this one.

The map

The contact page and the about page each show a map of Wichita, and that frame comes from Google Maps rather than from us. It does not wait for a click the way the films do — the frame loads as you scroll down to it, so Google sees the request whether or not you look at the map. What Google does with it is covered by Google’s own privacy policy rather than by this one.

Changing your mind

Ask us to delete anything you have sent us and we will. An email or a phone call is enough — there is no form to fill in and nothing to prove. The contact page has the same details as the block below.
